WHEN:  Sat Aug 14th 11:30 – 1:00
WHERE: Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport
WHY: “Just to show the citizens and city council and county council, etc. that airlines are fantastic, but sometimes the small aircraft can move people, business, economy into the area as well,” said Mark Seibutis, past-president of COPA Flight 7 in Sarnia-Lambton and organizer of the open house.
“And showing the community that we have something to be proud of,” he said about another reason for hosting the 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. gathering aimed at showcasing the airport, and letting people converse with pilots and see various aircraft up close.
Chris Hadfield, the former astronaut for whom the airport is named, will be flying in on Saturday.
Come out if you’re interested in seeing the planes and meeting Chris.
Bring a mask, maintain two metres distance, and be mindful that attendees will be screened at the gate, he said.
Let’s show the local politicians that you care about our local airports and do not want another Owen Sound Airport shutdown sale!

Hanover Lunch Invite

On this coming Sunday Aug. 15th. The Trillium Aviators group is invited to fly to Hanover Airport (CYHS) for lunch in support of their Hope Air fund raising event. This event is sponsored by theHanover Flying club and will be hosted by Burt and Marie Hodgins at their hangar. (See attached photo)
Again this year the folks at Hanover airport are pulling out all the stops to put on a superb lunch with tenderloin on a fresh bun from a local bakery, corn on the cob, salads and desserts. Lunch will begin at noon but for early arrivals I am sure a coffee pot will be ao.

Please note the date change from an earlier announcement from Saturday to Sunday. Last year this was our biggest event of the year and we expect a big crowd again this time around. It might be a good idea to bring a lawn chair if you have room.

Let’s all fly to this great little airport on Sunday and show our support for this very worthwhile charity Hope Air.
The next outing to the Trillium Aviators will be on Thursday Aug, 19th to the Wiarton Airport. The Chatham event scheduled for the weekend of the 28th. was cancelled.
