Participants are required to register in the paid parking area just outside of the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (please refer to the map). Parking at the airport is free for the first 90 minutes and then $4.00 per hour thereafter.

Who is eligible?
All children between the ages of eight and seventeen are invited to participate in the COPA for Kids Flight.
What is involved?
When you register online you will be able to select a time for your child to arrive at the Region of Waterloo International Airport. COPA Flight 26 will have a registration areas set up in the main paid parking lot located in front of the Runway’s Café and the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre.
After confirming your child’s registration and having a parent or guardian sign the waiver form, your child will be given a brief orientation on safety.
Once a plane is available, children will be escorted onto the apron to meet with the children’s’ pilot. Pictures will be taken of the children and pilot in front of the plane (if a photography waiver is signed). Volunteers and the pilot will ensure that the children are safely loaded into the plane and seat belts securely fastened.
The flight will be for 15 to 20 minutes either over Guelph or Cambridge depending on the active runway in use at the time of the flight. Once the plane has landed, taxied back to the apron and the engine shut off; the children will be assisted by a volunteer to disembark, certificates will be given to them by the pilot and then they will be escorted back to the registration area. Photographs will be available online after the event.
To give you a sense of the day, please check out these videos of the past Women of Aviation Flights where COPA Flight 26 partnered with the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre to fly women and children at the Waterloo International Airport.

Safety Reminders
Millions of people fly safely in airplanes every day. However, an airport is not a playground. Listen and follow instructions given by volunteers and your pilot and follow these simple rules when around or in a small plane
- Stay away from the propeller;
- Listen carefully for instructions on entering and exiting the airplane;
- Do not touch any part of an airplane without the pilot’s permission; and
- Stay with your pilot or volunteer at all times when on the apron.
What if the weather is not good enough to fly?
We will cancel flights either in the morning, afternoon or all day if the weather is not safe for flying (e.g. low clouds or poor visibility). Check our this website before the event to ensure the Flight is still on.
How do I sign up?
The next event will be on June 18, 2016. Online registration will open up in April 2016.
